I came to Trinity/Las Americas in 2007 after 23 years serving Miller United Methodist Church ( now Amor y Paz) as a half time pastor and 30 years serving as a chaplain for Hospice of Central Iowa . I also served churches in SW Iowa, South London, England, West Des Moines, and Mitchellville. I was involved in the first stage of rehabilitation of our Trinity Building and currently work with Carl Wierderaenders as a Trustee trying to keep things working in our lovely century old building. I enjoy adding my voice and instrumental efforts to our Sunday worship. For the last several years I have been working with the interfaith immigration reform committee to bring hope and support to our Latino community. My wife of 27 years is Kathy Melby and we have three adult children, two of whom live in Des Moines area and one in Austin, Texas. We have three grandchildren ages 1, 6 and 13.
